Pre Upgrade Checklist


 

 


Pre Upgrade

Complete the HealthCo Upgrade Survey and submit

Read the GE Product and Service Pack release notes for important information about the CPS product.

Be aware that any custom stored procedures may not function after upgrade completion.

Verify clinic hardware meets the hardware specification for CPS and all SQL settings listed have been applied https://support.healthcois.com/hardware/CPSHardwareRequirements.htm

Verify network domain contains a .(period) in the domain name.  For further information visit:  https://hiskb.healthcois.com/article.aspx?id=10178

Schedule your upgrade with HealthCo and coordinate with third party vendors if necessary.

View the prerecorded training sessions on CPS that are available on the HealthCo website.  http://www.healthcois.com/cpsupgradesite/CPS%20Training%20Center.html

Schedule training with HealthCo to coincide with your upgrade date if you would like one-on-one training.

Verify all CPS users have an Active Directory log on.  Review the Service Pack 2 release notes for specific information about changes to security and how Centricity uses Domain security and Activity Directory for user log on and security.

Note the location of Collection and Recall mail merge letters on your network for the CPO Reports component if you use them.  Mail merge letters will need to be re-imported into CPS post upgrade.

Review and make note of all custom / saved report criteria in Centricity Physician Office.  Custom / saved report criteria will have to be recreated in CPS post upgrade.

If you use MIK, follow the instructions in Addendum A of the CPS Upgrade instructions to Stop MIK and save your MIK settings.

Install or upgrade Microsoft SQL 2000 to Microsoft SQL 2005

**If migrating to a new server containing SQL 2005, HealthCo highly recommends migrating to the new server platform on your current version and scheduling your upgrade after sufficient time has been allowed to ensure the new hardware and software platform is functional with your current version.  For restore instructions please see: http://www.healthcois.com/cpsupgradesite/Documentation/Additional%20Docs/04%20Restore%20a%20backup%20from%20old%20server%20to%20SQL2005%20server.pdf
